The Project objectives are (i) environmental protection and infrastructure improvements in the Tansen, Lumbini areas, (ii) eco-tourism development in West Himalaya and the Mid-Hills Area, (iii) improving infrastructure within 5 domestic airports and strengthening air communications, and (iv) sector development, and institutional strengthening of Ministry, Tourism Board, and local government bodies. METCON have provided expertise in areas of poverty reduction, gender, legal, and environment.
